Missions Globales is sponsored and organized by local missions-minded churches.
How can my church be involved?
* We have the privilege of inviting you and your church to participate in Montreal's annual Missions Globales which will be held November 5-7, 2010 at Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf.
* Missions Globales is an exciting development within the evangelical church throughout Canada. Many churches and Christians are coming together to celebrate the progress of the gospel throughout the world, and to become more effective participants. Beginning in the early eighties, there are now such gatherings in Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, and Halifax.
The benefits of being a Sponsoring Church.
* The purpose of Missions Globales is to help each church to excel in carrying out its missions program. Whether your church has a denominational focus, interdenominational cooperation, or a mix, it is the local church that has the responsibility to bring the gospel in word and deed to the world.
* Together we can help Montreal Christians become World Christians in a way that we cannot do alone. Dozens of mission agencies, working in many regions and undertaking different types of outreach, will provide a panoramic view of missions at their exhibits and through workshops. The general assemblies and youth rally will challenge us all to committed involvement in Christ's great mission.
* Missions Globales makes missionary speakers available to Sponsoring Churches for speaking in their services on Missions Globales Sunday.
* Special recognition will be given in the Missions Globales Resource Magazine if the Sponsoring Church Form is received by June 11, 2010.
How your church can participate.
While all the Missions Fests help each other and follow similar principals, each is run independently and under the leadership of local sponsoring churches. Your church is invited to become a sponsoring church for Missions Globales. The impact brought to the Church within Quebec is dependent on participation by the local churches.
Here are some of the ways that Sponsoring Churches can help.
* Appoint one or two representatives to Missions Globales. These should be people who are currently involved in your church's missions program, or who are willing to develop this area. These representatives are invited to help organize Missions Globales, or at least act as contact persons.
* Set aside November 5-7, 2010 in your church calendar. Sponsoring churches commit to keep this weekend as free as possible, aside from normal church services, in order to encourage and allow their members to participate.
* Publicize Missions Globales. Bulletin inserts will be provided at no cost to sponsoring churches. The Missions Globales representatives should be allowed to make announcements and seek assistance (e.g. volunteers, billets for visiting missionaries).
* Pray regularly for Missions Globales, and for Quebec churches to grow as a global missions force.
* Contribute financially. A suggested amount is $1 -$2 per average adult church attendance to assist with program costs. However, no amount is too small.
